Having initially been dated for late December, it's been confirmed today Botany Manor will receive its PS5, PS4 ports in a few weeks time on 28th January 2025. You can check out a new trailer above.
In the game, you'll explore an English stately home in the 19th century, looking to solve puzzles in order to grow plants and allow your garden to flourish. As Arabella Greene, you're there to finish off your botanical research book, titled Forgotten Flora.
"Explore a complete historical English manor and its grounds, researching how to grow rare plant specimens from seed. There are many rooms and gardens to discover, all set inside a beautiful countryside surrounding. The manor is filled with mysterious clues for you to discover, including books, posters, letters and fascinating Victorian contraptions." Due to its price on other platforms, the game should cost £22.49 / $24.99.
Having released for PC and other consoles in 2024, we can already look to a strong Metaciritc rating of 82 to know Botany Manor is a puzzle title worth checking out. Our sister site Nintendo Life awarded the game an impressive 9/10 rating, sharing praise for its visuals and just the right amount of challenge. @Can-You-Believe-Sith A major theme of the game is the dismissal of women in various scientific fields at the time. The character you play is a brilliant botanist and you read some rejection letters from organizations that make condescending and dismissive remarks about her pursuing a scientific field rather than being a wife and mother. It sounds preachy, but I thought the theme was massaged very organically into the game. Because you are growing plants for one of her major applications throughout the game, you experience first-hand how brilliant she is and how frustrating it is for your achievements as a player to be dismissed for stupid reasons. Without her ever saying a word, the game does an excellent job of putting you in her headspace through gameplay.
Very good game too btw. It's maybe the best puzzle game I've played in a while.

Loaded dilemma.
There was a time where I wouldn't look twice at games like this but I'm more open minded on different genres.

@ButterySmooth30FPS fwiw i didn’t think knit was obtuse. There are some harder puzzles but there are hints too if you need them. Definitely throughr it was a cosy puzzle game, but it does make you think. I loved it.
I played this for like 10 minutes on Gamepass and actually enjoyed it. Not sure why I stopped, but like most things on Gamepass I try it out there, and buy it on PlayStation later
This one is very, very good!
